NOW ACCEPTING SUBMISSIONS
Q/A Poetry exists to amplify the voices of womxn and nonbinary poets, and to expand the subjects deemed “appropriate” for womxn to be writing about. Send us your poems on your postpartum body, spider veins, lip hair, your favorite liquid eyeliner, your anguish over glass ceilings, your sex work, your ode to stay-at-home tedium, your list of your most beautiful and unlikeable qualities.
Send us the work that a bunch of cis-male editors (wrongly) rejected, but that begs to be read.
What We Want
Poems that stop us in our tracks.
Poems we are jealous of, poems we think of when we look in the mirror.
We don’t care if/where you went to school. We care about your work and how it interacts with the world. For examples of what Q and A enjoy reading, check out the work of Patricia Smith, Sharon Olds, Ada Limon, Kelli Russell Agodon, Amelia Martens, Natasha Trethewey, C.D. Wright, and Heather McHugh, to name a few.
What & How to Submit
Poets may submit up to 5 poems and/or 5 pages, sent as a .doc, .rtf, or .pdf file to email@example.com.
Submission emails should include your name and “SUBMISSION” in the title. We strive to publish poems on a weekly basis, but please give us up to a month for a response. We accept simultaneous submissions, but would appreciate a prompt notification if one (or more) of your poems is accepted elsewhere. If accepted, you agree to grant us First North American Serial Rights, archival rights, plus the rights to reprint in future anthologies. Upon publication all rights revert back to the author. If your accepted poem(s) subsequently appears elsewhere (in print or online), please give due credit to Q/A Poetry.
